Playing hooky

Photo essay time.  So, during our last 2 weeks of training we had model school.  We each taught three times, so we had loooots of time to walk around/play hooky.  And we did.  Mostly we took walks around town.  Mostly I followed Amy and Kristin around while they took pictures of things.

And sometimes they even took pictures of each other.

But, also we visited things like abandoned buildings and waterfalls.

This is the entrance to "The Castle"  My absolute favorite place during training.

Up the road from that gate is this big abandoned building.  An old mansion?

It had lots of nice overgrown benches to sit on and watch stars.  Watch out for broken glass though!

Jade catches some rays.

It's a discotech?

Oh, here's the bar.

Here's Amy taking some more pictures.

And finally here's some shots from around our training village.

Housing ranges from mud/stone/stick houses...

To sheeky old Portuguese houses

The catholic church

Typical sights, downtown

This is Javier's bar.  Imagine ~60 volunteers sitting outside here.  We spent LOTS of time here.  Drinking CocaCola, naturally.

The secondary school.  Where we were SUPPOSED to be when all these pictures were taken.
