Yup, Still Here

Things have calmed down here in Moz again.  The second Trimester is over.  I graded all my tests and passed 15% more students this semester, around 50% this time.  Hopefully, somehow, we can get that up to 80% next trimester?  Ha.  I wish.

I just got back from spending a week in a town that isn't even on the map.  To get there I had to take 3 chapas, a plane, a mini-bus and a Toyota Corolla.  I arrived at the End of the Line and still had 30 miles to go before the End of the Earth.  I was hoping to catch a ride in a pickup when a really really lovely corolla with all its windows and seatbelts and air conditioning rolled up.  My friend Swears that it is impossible to make it to the End of the Earth in less than 2 days.  But I did it in One.  Thanks to the miraculous Corolla.

Then I layed around for a week.

Then I headed back to Chimoio ( I just can't seem to stay away from there) for a 2 day conference about grant proposals and management.  I met up with a woman who lives in my town--we're going to be working on a project together--we have a group that's surprisingly similar to Girl Scouts and hopefully we'll be rallying the girls to do some sort of project for our town.  It may be HIV-awarness-themed workshops or putting together a public playground next to the district football field.  Who knows.  I'm still hopeing the girls will see the need for a community swimming pool....  Fingers crossed.

I've been away from my site for a week and a half now, so I'm pretty ready to get home and see where things are at... I'm looking forward to starting a new Trimester of school in a week and a half.
