Frat boys across America are feeling jealous right now and they don't even know why. But I do. CHECK OUT THESE SHORTS. I had a tailor make them for me. They're pretty much the coolest shorts I've ever owned. AmIRite?
So you might be wondering..."How much does such a fancy pair of shorts cost? Because I would pay $80 for those at the Gap, I would."
Well, they cost 100 mts for the capulana and this pair of shorts used about half a capulana. I'm going to use the left overs to make drink cozies. Then the tailor charged 100 mts for the sewing. So, 200 mts total. Or, like $7. That sounds pretty cheap, but it's actually 3% of my monthly allowance. So, that's actually more like $60, relative.
So, yeah, I guess they were like almost $80, but not from the Gap. They were made outside the shop where I bought the capulana by a kid who had a stripe bleached into his hair. He used a sewing machine that had a foot pedal and looked like something straight out of a museum. It was all black enamel and gold paint mounted on a beat up wooden table. I'm not sure what I'll have him make me next. Anyone want to make a suggestion? A lovely blazer maybe? A jaunty vest and bow tie?
In other news:
I walked down to the villa today to hang out with Kim. We ate some chicken at the market and I bought a liter of milk. Exciting times. It's gearing up to rain again! Yesssssss. Curious how much these things cost? A plate of chicken and a coke costs 105 mts and a liter of milk is 65 mts.
I. Love. Those. Shorts.
ReplyDelete... and of course, they are green.
