This is a giant beetle. Maybe a dung beetle.
This is a giant mantis that laid eggs in my kitchen. Those tiles are 5 inches square. I tried to get Puffin to eat it for breakfast but she wasn't interested. Probably those sharp claw things weren't very appetizing to her. Hopefully she'll eat the mantis babies for a snack.
