This weekend I attended 2 parties. First, the volunteer Thanksgiving dinner and then the 5th birthday party for my little cousin who lives with us.
We made a ridiculous amount of food for Thanksgiving. All the volunteers were divided into teams. Here's team Mashed Potatoes in action. I was in charge of the gravy. |
Looks pretty American. Tasted AMAZING. |
Grisha didn't even use silverware I don't think. Just used the turkey leg to shovel the food from the bowl. |
Grisha's bowl, round 2. |

Jade is overjoyed with the pecan pie our Country Director made for us. Also, she wins the Best Dressed award. |
This was what I woke up to the morning after the Thanksgiving party. |
And this. So Much Cooking. |
Then the Criancas descended upon us. |
And they danced. |
This is Lenon, my favorite cousin. He is the Besssssst Dancer I've ever seen. |
Some other vols came to the party and the Crancas took pictures of us, and with us. This is Amy. |

At a Mozam-birthday party the gifts are presented individually. Folks line up and everyone sings as they hand the presents to the birthday boy. |
But Leo didn't want to get out of the bouncy castle. Not even for presents. |
So, that was my weekend. In other news, I washed 11 pieces of clothing today (that included 4 pairs of Un-mentionables) and it took me 45 minutes. I'm exhausted. Also, I've been to 2 different tailors this week having measurements made for some new shirts I'm getting. I'm excited to have custom made clothes.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Dude, looks like you're having such a fun time. Bouncy castles in Africa?! And Americanized thanksgiving? Who knew! Looks awesome and swell. Now if only you had a washing machine :) haha!
ReplyDeleteTailored shirts? That's amazing!
